The Idea Behind the Game
Dude Theft Wars was made for players who love the freedom of an open world: go anywhere, do anything, and never be forced down a set path. Instead of a fixed chain of missions, the game gives you a lively town and lets you write your own story.
The goal is a chaotic but fun experience. Everything has a touch of humor: the screams of passersby, the wild car flips, the silly weapons. The cartoon look keeps the mood light, even when things get out of hand.
Story
You play as a "dude" with a house, a garage, and plenty of mischievous ideas. The town around you has everything: a gun shop, general stores, a town hall, a police station, and residents going about their day.
There is no main campaign and no final win screen. The story is whatever you make of it: earn money, buy more weapons, collect vehicles, purchase property, and see how the town reacts when you stir things up.
Gameplay
Dude Theft Wars is a third-person open-world action game. You walk, drive, and decide for yourself what to do next.
A Wide Range of Weapons
From fists and baseball bats to pistols, shotguns, SMGs, rifles, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, grenades, and a few silly extras. Each weapon has its own feel. You can aim for precise shots and swap weapons quickly from the keyboard.
Plenty of Vehicles
Sports cars, muscle cars, monster trucks, karts, off-road rides, drift cars, and more. Vehicles have real physics: you can drift, jump, use nitro, and flip over if you drive too wildly. If a car gets stuck or tips over, you can set it upright again.
Wanted Level and Police
The more trouble you cause, the higher your wanted level (up to 5 stars) and the tougher the police become. You can run to lower your wanted level, or stand and fight.
Money, Property, and Garage
Earn money and spend it on weapons, ammo, and property. The garage next to your house can store your favorite car. Save points scattered around town record your money, weapons, and property.
Slow Motion
You can slow down time for a short while to line up a shot or get out of a dangerous situation. The energy bar drains as you use it and recovers while you rest.
Exploration and Mini-Games
The town has its own map with shops, houses, and landmarks. Near certain spots you can play mini-games, such as basketball, to earn extra cash.
Style
Low-Poly 3D Graphics
Dude Theft Wars is a 3D game with a cartoon low-poly look. Characters, vehicles, and buildings are made from simple shapes with little surface detail, which keeps everything easy to read even when the action is fast.
Bright, Cheerful Colors
The palette is vivid and airy: blue skies, green trees, and colorful rooftops. The world looks friendly and fun, in contrast to the chaos you create in it.
Day and Night
In-game time passes through a day and night cycle. The sky, light, and atmosphere shift gradually from dawn to noon, dusk, and night.
Funny Characters
Townspeople wear different outfits, hats, glasses, and beards. They stroll, dance, make phone calls, greet you, and panic when something happens, which gives the world its life.
Sound
Engine noise, gunfire, crowd screams, and background music are mixed to create a lighthearted, chaotic atmosphere.
Controls
The game uses a keyboard and mouse.
Movement and Camera
W, A, S, D or the arrow keys to move. Move the mouse to look around. Press Space to jump. While driving, W accelerates, S brakes or reverses, A and D steer, Space is the handbrake, and Shift fires the nitro.
